In simple terms? God's pub :D
About eight million kinds of beer - of course, you get them at the bar, as usual in Britain - just sports channels on TV, there is wood all around, the carpet just slightly stained :D As for me? Love, just love ... A billiard table at the back - and one can even cheer loudly and get emotional about a soccer club performance or a favourite horse placings, definitely, one won´t feel lonely or inappropriate :D

A pub across the road from Preston railway station which can get very busy with food and drink sales. The pub has a great choice of ten cask ales at very good prices, and service is quick from very plesant staff who are gened up on the ales on offer. There are three large tvs for sport

The Old Vic & Station is another pub that is really only worth a visit if going to/coming from the train station.
The Railway pub is a much better pub although having said that I do go in from time to time as there are real ales, Sky Sports and a Karaoke/DJ night on a Saturday so often come in here after coming back from the train station on a night out in Lancaster, Manchester etc.
I'm not sure if they serve food but wouldn't recommend it based on other reports I have heard-they often sell Deuchars and Directors beer-the prices are about average and they always have a range of real ales.
In summary OK for a quick pint or when coming from a late evening train when the pub is open longer than the Railway pub-especially if you've had a few beers! -

Not a good pub to visit, but nice if you want a change of scenery and in a convenient place as it's across the road from the railway station.
The bright points are that there are 2 big screens for the football, a decent pool table and there's a very good quiz night in the pub on Sunday nights.
Sadly the bar staff are very temprimental, on a good day the staff can be welcoming but on a bad day, there have been a few of them, you may as well drink up and walk out and the service can be very poor, unfriendly and unwelcoming.
There is a nice range of beers at a nice price but the food menu lacks ideas and the quality is substandard.
